I've been working on my new shop all day long! I felt like I needed a new image, a new name that wasn't limited like hippiemamas. Hippiemamas is just not good enough, so I've come up with......delilahsboutique.com! Aww Delilah, I'm sure is quite happy with me. I absolutely love the new name! It has a much better ring to it!
I've wanted to have a little shop of my own for many years now, but just couldn't hone in on a particular craft. To tell ya the truth, I still can't, but I love making these little treasures right now. I've been doing some shopping for fabric...quite a bit, mostly fat quarters. They're a great way to build up the stash fast.
I really don't want to work tomorrow. Up by 3am getting toddler ready for sitter he stays overnight on Fridays, at work by 5am, work until 5:30pm, drive to second job to pick up supples, go to second job site, work for 3 more hours, drive back to second job site to drop off supplies, head home, shower, and in bed by 11pm. Then I get up and do the same thing saturday...minus T and second job, that's only Fridays and Wednesdays.
I have created a new Etsy shop to showcase some of the crafts I have been working on.
I recently reached 90lbs lost since having my son in 2005! I turned my eating habits around because I was tired of being tired. So what miracle diet did I use? Nothing, nothing at all. I just changed the types of foods I ate and made lots of substitutions.
Instead of white, enriched bread, I ate whole grain breads. It's amazing how much better sandwiches taste with a hearty filling bread like whole grain instead of flimsy, white, if you roll it, you can turn it back into dough, Wonderbread.
I eliminated sweets for sweet fruit. I eat all types of sweet fruits like strawberries, watermelon and pineapple. I don't give my son candy either...He doesn't even know what candy means and he'll be three in a few months. It's just not something we ever have in the house except around the holidays. We usually have our fruit for breakfast and as a snack in the afternoon.
I keep healthier snacks in my bag. Crackers instead of chips and quaker granola bars instead of candy bars. They're especially good at giving a more constant energy when I'm out and about. The granola bars usually have a few chocolate chips in them that satisfy my sweet tooth and crackers come in all kinds of flavors and are more filling than chips.
I eat lots of yogurt. I find that the low fat yogurt has a lesser zingy flavor which I prefer and I like to eat the ones with the cookie crumbles to once again satisfy my need for sweet and crunch!
Very little meat. No hotdogs, or hamburger, no pork, no steak...Well, once in a while, but mostly chicken and fish.
I still eat pretty much anything I crave, I just do it in moderation. It take a little willpower, but if you don't buy it at the grocery store, it won't be in you cupboard or fridge calling your name!
Thanks!Oh I know! I love sweets, so I figure, if I add just a small amount to healthy food, I... read more
